In an era when techno is increasingly moving towards polish and gloss, releases like “Cyber-M” sound especially convincing. Russian producer Valera Unusov releases a mini-album on the Rhythm Resonance label, which combines the sharpness of RAW sound, dip and hypnotic immersion. This is not a set of tracks for a convenient mix - it is an independent statement, where each track works as a chapter of one futuristic story.

Artist: Valera Unusov
Title: Cyber-M EP
Genre: Electronic
Style: Raw / Hypnotic Techno
The opening “Cyber-M ” is a solid start. A pulsating groove on a backing of metallized shakers. The atmosphere is tense, with techno-dramaturgy on the edge of sci-fi thriller. Soundscapes and background noises in the mix work not as decoration, but as the driving force of the track.
“Space Dust ” rhythmically tends to Detroit style, but in the center of the composition synthesizers capture energy, creating an atmosphere that does not let go, but takes you deep into the depths.
The track “80'S ” is an echo of old-school, where the sound of the past decades meets modern techno experiments. People born in the 80's seem to be ahead of their time, reflecting the spirit of the era in sounds that are recharged and sound relevant today.
“To Love Me ” is the most unconventional track of the release. Here the author departs from the genre framework. Quantized beats are replaced by free rhythmics. Base loses its center, starts to float. The voice is as if glued from glitches and granules. It's closer to experimental dip than to classic techno. Ends the release abstractly, leaving space for aftertaste.
“Cyber-M” is not just another release in the genre. This is techno that isn't afraid to be uncomfortable. Unusov doesn't push epicness, but doesn't hide behind minimalism either. Each track is a point on the coordinate grid between the club, laboratory and imaginary cyberspace.
